As part of the “A Cross Regional Predictive Model for Youth Policy Shaping – Youth Observers” project, CCIS is pleased to launch the Youth Observers Blog Series, a platform dedicated to amplifying young people’s perspectives on public policy and societal issues.
The series showcases articles written by members of the CCIS Youth Observers group, offering evidence-informed reflections on topics that matter to young people in Albania and the wider region. Through their contributions, the authors encourage dialogue, critical thinking, and meaningful youth participation in policymaking processes.
We are pleased to introduce the first contribution by Keris Babliku, a Software Engineering student at the European University of Tirana, youth activist, and Assistant Researcher at CCIS. In her article, she reflects on the opportunities and challenges facing young people in Albania and the importance of active civic engagement in shaping the country’s future.

On National Youth Day in Albania, CCIS is pleased to share a new contribution from the Youth Observers Blog Series, highlighting the perspectives of young people on the opportunities and challenges shaping their future.
In this reflection, the author explores issues that continue to define the experiences of Albania’s youth, including education, employment, migration, political participation, and the country’s European future. The article emphasizes the importance of meaningful youth engagement in policymaking and the need to create opportunities that enable young people to contribute to the development of their communities.
Drawing on personal experience, the article calls for stronger investment in quality education, greater employment opportunities, and more inclusive public policies that recognize young people not only as beneficiaries of change, but as active contributors to it.
