At the Center for Comparative and International Studies (CCIS), we believe that data is more than numbers. It is a public good, a foundation for trust, and a powerful instrument for informed decisions and sustainable development.
On this World Statistics Day, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting data literacy, reliable statistics and evidence-based policymaking at national and local levels.
Through our research, policy initiatives and capacity-building activities, CCIS works closely with municipalities, civil society organisations, academia, businesses and public institutions to strengthen not only the production and accessibility of data, but, most importantly, its meaningful use in planning, policymaking, monitoring and public accountability.
Our ambition goes beyond strengthening technical capacities. We aim to build a community of informed and engaged data users, where institutions and citizens understand the value of statistics, trust credible evidence, ask better questions and actively contribute to decisions that shape their communities.
We believe that trust in data is built through transparency, quality, accessibility and participation. When evidence becomes part of public dialogue, it strengthens democratic governance, institutional accountability and inclusive development.
At CCIS, we remain committed to bridging the gap between data, policy and society, ensuring that statistics are not only produced and published, but understood, trusted and used.
