The Center for Comparative and International Studies (CCIS) was honoured to participate in the launch of the Switzerland–Albania Cooperation Programme 2026–2028, represented by Senior Expert Prof. Dr. Nevila Xhindi.

Through its Good Governance portfolio, CCIS has contributed to strengthening democratic governance and evidence-based policymaking in Albania. A key milestone has been the implementation of STATEALB, an initiative focused on enhancing trust in and the use of official statistics among civil society organisations, academia, the media, and the private sector. By promoting statistical literacy and fostering dialogue between data producers and users, the initiative has contributed to more informed public discourse and decision-making.

Building on this experience, CCIS remains committed to working closely with its Swiss partners to support institutional capacity-building, pilot innovative approaches, and contribute to reforms that promote transparent, accountable, and inclusive governance.

The new Switzerland–Albania Cooperation Programme 2026–2028 reinforces the long-standing partnership between Switzerland and Albania and supports the country’s European integration agenda through investments in democratic governance, social inclusion, and sustainable economic development. These priorities closely align with CCIS’ mission to generate evidence, strengthen institutions, and facilitate collaboration among public institutions, civil society, academia, and international partners.

We extend our congratulations to H.E. Ms. Ruth Huber, Ambassador of Switzerland to Albania, on the launch of the new Cooperation Programme and look forward to continuing our collaboration in support of sustainable and inclusive development.
