The Center for Comparative and International Studies (CCIS) hosted the Working Group 1 Meeting of COST Action CA22150 – CoREx (The Executive Triangle: Connecting Research on Politicians, Top Civil Servants and Ministerial Advisers), held on 29–30 September 2025 at Europe House in Tirana.
The CoREx Action brings together an international network of researchers examining the relationships between executive politicians, senior civil servants and ministerial advisers—the executive triangle—and their influence on public policymaking, government performance and democratic governance across Europe.
The meeting brought together approximately 25 researchers from more than 15 European countries, providing a collaborative platform to present ongoing research, exchange empirical findings, discuss methodological approaches and advance the comparative work of Working Group 1. Discussions focused on strengthening the Action’s analytical framework and expanding comparative evidence on the functioning of executive governance, particularly in the context of increasing political complexity and polarization.
By serving as the local organiser, CCIS contributed to facilitating international scientific collaboration and fostering knowledge exchange on public governance, reinforcing its commitment to supporting high-quality research networks and evidence-based policymaking at the European level.
