Me rastin e Ditës Evropiane të Përkujtimit të Viktimave të Stalinizmit dhe Nazizmit (Black Ribbon Day), Qendra për Studime Krahasuese dhe Ndërkombëtare (QSKN/CCIS) nderon kujtimin e miliona viktimave të regjimeve totalitare dhe riafirmon rëndësinë e ruajtjes së kujtesës historike si themel i shoqërive demokratike.
Kjo ditë shërben si një moment reflektimi mbi pasojat e totalitarizmit dhe nevojën për të mbrojtur vlerat e demokracisë, shtetit të së drejtës, të drejtave të njeriut dhe lirive themelore. Ruajtja e kujtesës kolektive dhe edukimi i brezave të rinj mbi historinë janë elemente thelbësore për parandalimin e përsëritjes së shkeljeve të rënda të të drejtave të njeriut.
Përmes projekteve dhe iniciativave të saj, CCIS kontribuon në promovimin e edukimit qytetar, drejtësisë tranzicionale dhe angazhimit të të rinjve, duke mbështetur zhvillimin e një kulture demokratike të bazuar në respektin për të drejtat e njeriut, përgjegjësinë qytetare dhe pjesëmarrjen aktive në jetën publike.
Në këtë ditë përkujtimore, CCIS riafirmon angazhimin e saj ndaj vlerave mbi të cilat është ndërtuar projekti evropian—dinjitetit njerëzor, lirisë, demokracisë, barazisë, shtetit të së drejtës dhe respektimit të të drejtave themelore.
On the occasion of Black Ribbon Day – the European Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Stalinism and Nazism, the Center for Comparative and International Studies (CCIS) honours the memory of the millions of victims who suffered under totalitarian regimes and reaffirms the importance of preserving historical memory as a foundation for democratic societies.
This day serves as a reminder of the devastating consequences of totalitarianism and the need to safeguard democracy, the rule of law, human rights, and fundamental freedoms. Preserving historical memory and educating younger generations about the past are essential to preventing the recurrence of such atrocities.
Through its projects and initiatives, CCIS contributes to promoting transitional justice, civic education, and youth engagement in Albania, fostering a greater understanding of the country’s past while strengthening democratic values, active citizenship, and respect for human rights.
On this day of remembrance, CCIS also reaffirms its commitment to the core values upon which the European Union is founded—human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law, and respect for fundamental rights.
