The first mobility within the Youth Digital Democracy Accelerator Programme!

Participant collaboration, expert-led discussions, and interactive workshops on social media campaigning and digital activism were the highlights of the first mobility within the Youth Digital Democracy Accelerator Programme!
The mobility, hosted by Beogradski centar za ljudska prava (BCHR) in Belgrade, brought together 14 young activists and civil society representatives to explore the intersection between digital campaigning and civic activism, learning from guest speakers and each other.
CCIS was proudly represented by three young participants, two of whom were part of CCIS’s partnership with ANAD-SHKSHNJND, aimed at fostering opportunities and inclusion for young people in this initiative.
The journey continues in Oviedo, Spain, where participants are expanding their understanding of digital democracy and brainstorming the next steps of the project.
Stay tuned to learn more about the upcoming initiatives led by our young changemakers!

Strengthening Trust in Data: CCIS Roundtable at Fan S. Noli University, Korça

The Center for Comparative and International Studies (CCIS) is actively implementing the “Fostering Trust and Utilization in Albania’s Data Landscape” project, a 10-month initiative supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Albania. This project aims to enhance trust in and utilization of statistical data in Albania by engaging four key non-state stakeholders: civil society, media, business, and universities.
After an intensive research and development phase in January and February 2025, CCIS experts have finalized a comprehensive questionnaire designed to assess perspectives on data use and accessibility, with tailored questions for each stakeholder group.
On February 27, 2025, the CCIS team, alongside project experts, traveled to Fan S. Noli University in Korça to hold a roundtable discussion with faculty members and students. This session introduced the project’s goals and encouraged participants to engage in the national survey on Trust and Utilization in Albania’s Data Landscape, with a specific focus on universities.
This marks the first of a series of consultative roundtables that CCIS will organize with businesses, media representatives, and civil society actors in the coming weeks to ensure broad and meaningful participation in the study.
Stay tuned as we continue working to bridge data gaps, strengthen trust, and promote evidence-based decision-making in Albania!

Empowering Deaf Youth in Digital Democracy!

Together with the Albanian National Association of the Deaf (ANAD), CCIS and SCiDEV successfully organized a Digital Democracy workshop, February 22, 2025, as part of the Digital Democracy Workshop Series, engaging young members of the deaf community in the Youth Digital Democracy Accelerator Program of the “Youth Participation in Digital Democracy: From Digital Skills to Digital Rights of Youth with Fewer Opportunities in the Western Balkans (EYDR)” project!
Funded by the Erasmus+ Capacity Building for Youth program of the European Commission and coordinated by SCiDEV, EYDR is dedicated to engaging, connecting, and empowering young people in the digital world. By enhancing digital skills and promoting awareness of digital rights, the project ensures that youth—especially those with fewer opportunities—can fully participate in digital democracy while balancing protection and participation.
As an essential partner, CCIS plays a key role not only in monitoring and evaluation but also in bridging access for marginalized youth through its strong collaboration with ANAD. This partnership has allowed deaf youth to take part in workshops and mobility opportunities, ensuring a more inclusive and equitable digital space.
EYDR fosters national and regional alliances among media, youth organizations, universities, and public authorities, creating networks that raise awareness, encourage policy dialogue, and advocate for digital inclusion.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to shape a more inclusive digital democracy!
